The Women's Hall of Fame was established to recognize women native to or identified with the state and who have made significant contributions on a state, national, or international level within their professional or personal spheres of activity. The installation program of 1979 Oct. 18 held at Judson College, Marion, Ala., includes a schedule of events; biographical sketches of the honorees, Myrtle Brooke and Carrie A. Tuggle; a brief history of the Hall; a list of former women installed; a register of Board members; and a copy of the state song.
